ST JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH
89 Edgewater Street >
St John’s Lutheran congregation was fully organized in 1864 and the decision made in 1866 to erect a church. It is thought that the first Christmas tree illuminated in a church in Nova Scotia was here in 1876.
SUGGESTED ROUTE - after visiting Northwest Baptist just off Hwy 324 proceed inland from Exit 11 to Cornwall and then Newburne. Continue to Maplewood and turn left to Barss Corner and then to New Germany, From there Hwy 10 will take you to the New West Pine. A detour from Hwy 10 up the Penney Rd will take you to Mt Calvary. You can return by the same route to Hwy 10 which will take you past the beautiful Wentzell’s Lake or follow the Silver Rd back to Hwy 10 and on to Bridgewater. |
